Joseph Marconi was born in semi-upstate New York in 1980 and studied filmmaking, photography and painting at the University at Buffalo. From 2006 – 2014 he worked in advertising at some of the top New York ad agencies like BBDO and MRM McCann.
In 2009 he shifted his focus over to photography and narrative storytelling where he spent time as a Nightlife photographer documenting the late-night debauchery on the sordid streets of lower Manhattan.
Joseph has written and directed six short films which have played all across the country gaining several nominations and winning Best Director & Emerging Talent Awards in The 2013 Middle Coast Film Festival. In 2016 his original teleplay “Nightlifers” was a finalist in the Creative World Awards and in 2017 his short film “Temp To Perm” won best Thriller Short Film at the Middle Coast Film Festival. He currently resides in Los Angeles, CA and is the founder of his production company, Upperstate.
